Different Types Of Heat Pumps

Heat Pumps can be difficult to select if you aren't aware of the different types and options to choose from. They can be used to heat up and cool down a number of different sources from the water in your home to your pool and spa. They can also be designed to regulate the temperature in your home, whether you want it to be warm or cool. In other words, these devices are capable of making things extremely comfortable regardless of what time of the year it is. Trane, for example, prides themselves on manufacturing the most efficient units for the job, such as their XL20i.

Of course, they're not the only ones to offer highly efficient units. Rheem claims to make Heat Pumps that are not only energy efficient but highly durable and reliable at the same time. One of the most popular models they manufacture is the RPNL that contains the very ecologically friendly refrigerant known as R410A, which is responsible for the heating process. They also design the units to be easily accessible for those that would do repairs on them, meaning that they want you to be able to keep your unit operating as long as you can.

Considering that you can use Heat Pumps in so many different applications in your home, you would expect to see a wide range of prices depending on what the unit is being used for. Take for example, the Goodman GPH1536M51, which uses the same R410A refrigerant as the Rheem unit, usually runs from $3,650 to $4,700. There are also federally funded rebate options available, and in most cases you can get $1,000 to $1,500 back for purchasing these units due to their energy efficiency. Getting rewarded with cash and saving money at the same time should justify the purchase.

Overall, you will see similar offerings from all the manufacturers, including Heil, Temptstar, and Ruud. Each one offers different features and value, but you should really try to invest in one that uses the R410A refrigerant so you qualify for the federal rebate. Most Heat Pumps are created to be environmentally responsible, but it's a good idea to make sure before purchasing one.
